I wrote my books, created my courses and have taken courses all during this productive window. I love working at this time and it’s when I am the most creative. I don’t think the time you wake up has any value on your self-worth or that it is a badge of honor. If I did all this, I would not have time to work in my business or have my sales call to help clients get their businesses organized. and work out every day at the same time in the morning.
What I don’t do: Meditate for an hour, read a few books every day, wake up at 5 a.m. Batching my customer meetings and videos into one or two days also reduces the amount of prep time I need to get ready. I usually don't get "makeup ready" until after lunch and try not to do any videos or anything customer-facing before this. It has been stated that there are many benefits for business leaders who exercise, like boosting memory and focus. I don’t love doing it, but I feel better when it’s done. Work out at some point before noon. This, of course, depends on your meeting schedule. Then you can start a new list the next day and carry over whatever is remaining.ĥ. At the end of the workday, you write down your top six priorities for the next day (no more than six). It was invented by Ivy Lee, who worked as a consultant to improve productivity for Charles Schwab. The Ivy Lee method is so simple and keeps me organized. I plan Ivy Lee priorities the night before and review them each morning. Review and execute your priorities for the day. And I use Excel (I am old school.) I think it is important for business leaders to check metrics daily because, as the saying goes, “What you can’t measure you can’t improve.” It also helps to organize your priorities to include certain focus areas.Ĥ. I have a few metrics I check every day on my videos, Instagram and sales sheets. When my workday starts at my computer, I check my metrics. Some other examples could be drinking a smoothie to get in vegetables, exercising or journaling - whatever works for you to make yourself feel best the rest of the day.ģ. I feel better when I do this and it adds to my wellness routine, which, in turn, makes me more productive and happy. But this is technically part of my morning routine that has stuck for years. I try to do this most days, except when I travel I have coffee. Every morning after I wake up, I drink hot water with lemon and ginger.
